The ASC, (the Association of Italian Production Designers, Costume Designers and Set Decorators) has organized an online auction to raise emergency funds for La casa di chi non ha casa - Binario95 a non-profit organization that assists the poor and homeless in Rome and throughout Italy. The fundraising event will auction over 200 sketches produced by legendary members of the members of the ASC (and other artists) for films, plays and television. The auction will also include sketches of Lila De Nobili coming from the private collection of Dino Trappetti, of the Tirelli Trappetti Foundation. Oscar award winners such as Dante Ferretti, Milena Canonero, and Gabriella Pescucci have generously accepted the invitation to join this initiative together with their colleagues, who have worked with some of the greatest names of Italian cinema: Federico Fellini, Martin Scorsese, Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton, Matteo Garrone, Wes Anderson, Marco Bellocchio, Mario Martone, Michele Placido, Ettore Scola, Stefano Sollima, Paolo Virzì, Pif, Carlo Carlei, Igor Tuveri, Alessandro D'Alatri and many others. From lyric opera and theatre, the auction will include sketches coming from the productions of Luca Ronconi, Gabriele Lavia, Roberto de Simone, Alberto Fassini, Michele Mirabella, Armando Pugliese. In regard to television, the sketches for the broadcasts of Renzo Arbore, Luca Nannini, Sergio Colabona are included.
Carlo Poggioli, president of the ASC, explains: "On each work (catalogued and numbered) there is a starting bid. This is a charity auction aimed at reaching the highest possible bid to help the poorest people in Italy." To participate, just make an offer to the auction base. On May 3, 2020 the works will be sold to the best offer.
